Mars Rover Manipal set to compete at the University Rover Challenge (URC) 2021, held at the renowned Mars Desert Research Station. To empower the engineers of tomorrow, Mouser Electronics are proud to sponsor their dream and support their ongoing research and development activities as they compete in the University Rover Challenge, which provides students with a platform for innovation and a chance to solve real engineering challenges.

University Rover Challenge first launched in 2006, challenges students to design, and build the next-generation Mars rover. The 2019 edition witnessed around 84 teams participating from 13 countries, and 36 teams selected for the field competition at Mars Desert Research center. During the URC 2019, Mars rover Manipal finished 8th place and 1st in Asia. They also bagged the Barainca award for the best science team during the competition.

For the 4th consecutive year, MRM has been amongst the top 36 international teams and one of the only 5 teams from India to make it to the final stage of URC'19 at the Mars Desert Research System along with IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, VIT Vellore, and SRM.

Mouser Electronics has been the component sponsor for Mars rover from 2017. Mouser supports MRM in building its prototype by providing electronic components that helped them in designing better Rover which could perform unique events such as Science Mission, Extreme Retrieval, and Autonomous Traversal Mission.
